Registration and login are required to submit items online and to check the status of current submissions.

 

Author Guidelines

Journal of Mountain Ecology publishes two categories of original papers:
a - Research papers, up to 10-15 pp.; b - Monographs, up to 35-40 pp.

Title:
Use no more than 15 words. Use vernacular names of institutes and organisms. The name of the author(s) should be typed on the line below the title, the address should follow on the next line. Correspondence will be sent to the first-named author, unless otherwise requested.

Abstract:
Articles require an abstract which describes the problem studied, the most important findings and their utility. Place key-words below the abstract. Supply about 10 key-words (vernacular and scientific names of principal organisms, geographic area, etc.). In the abstract or text, the first mention of a vernacular name should be accompanied by its scientific name.

References, Literature cited:
Authors must use the style reported in the last issue of the journal. Use capital and lowercase letters for authorsí last names, initials for given names. In the text, references should be cited in the following forms: Rossi (1993); Rossi (1993a, b); Bianchi & Rossi (1993); Bianchi et al. (1993); (Bianchi, 1993); (Bianchi & Rossi, 1993); (Bianchi et al., 1993); (Bianchi & Rossi, 1993a, b).

 

Submission Preparation Checklist

As part of the submission process, authors are required to check off their submission's compliance with all of the following items, and submissions may be returned to authors that do not adhere to these guidelines.

  1. The submission has not been previously published, nor is it before another journal for consideration (or an explanation has been provided in Comments to the Editor).
  2. The submission file is in OpenOffice, Microsoft Word, RTF, or WordPerfect document file format.
  3. Where available, URLs for the references have been provided.
  4. The text is single-spaced; uses a 12-point font; employs italics, rather than underlining (except with URL addresses); and all illustrations, figures, and tables are placed within the text at the appropriate points, rather than at the end.
  5. The text adheres to the stylistic and bibliographic requirements outlined in the Author Guidelines, which is found in About the Journal.
